Patron saint of the Holy Rosary, converts, those ensnared by the occult, orphans and the children of prisoners, and the people of Pompeii
St. Bartolo Longo Novena
St. Bartolo Longo (1841-1926) was an Italian lawyer who lost his faith at university and was ordained a priest of a satanic sect, until the Blessed Virgin drew him back through the Holy Rosary. He spent the rest of his long life spreading that devotion, raising the great Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary at Pompeii, and caring for orphans and the children of prisoners. Canonized in 2025, he is the hope of all who believe they have wandered too far from God. Pray this novena for conversion, for deliverance from every snare of the evil one, and for the favor you most need.

Day 1
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
O glorious Saint Bartolo Longo, apostle of the Most Holy Rosary, once a servant of darkness and now a citizen of light, God in his providence permitted you to wander far from him, that the whole world might learn how boundless his mercy is. From the depths of unbelief, and from the very altars of the enemy, he drew you back by the hand of his Blessed Mother, and made of you a herald of her Rosary and a father to the orphan and the outcast.
In the desolate valley of Pompeii you heard the words that gave you back your peace, “If you seek salvation, promulgate the Rosary. This is Mary’s own promise,” and upon that word you staked your whole life. You raised a shrine where there had been nothing, you gathered in the children whom no one else would receive, and you placed the beads of Our Lady in the hands of the poor.
Obtain for us, we beg you, the grace of a true and lasting conversion. Teach us to take up the Rosary with love, to meditate upon the mysteries of our redemption, and never to doubt the mercy of God, however far we may have strayed. Deliver from every snare of the evil one all those who have given themselves to darkness, and give hope to every soul who believes itself beyond forgiveness.
And now, dear Saint Bartolo, we place in your hands the particular favor we ask through your intercession.
(mention request here…)
Obtain this for us, if it be according to the will of God and for the good of our souls, and above all obtain for us the grace of final perseverance, that with the Rosary in our hands we may come at last to look upon the face of that Mother who saved you.
Amen.
O God, who in your boundless mercy raised up Saint Bartolo Longo from the darkness of unbelief and made him an apostle of the Holy Rosary and a father to the fatherless, grant, we beseech you, that through his intercession we may cling to the Blessed Virgin Mary in every trial, and that by meditating upon the mysteries of our redemption we may obtain what they promise. Through Christ our Lord.
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us.
