What Did St Gabriel Do?
St Gabriel is one of the three Archangels, along with Sts Raphael and Michael. God sent St Gabriel to the prophet Daniel and to Zechariah and Our Lady.
For the prophet Daniel, St Gabriel revealed the meaning of the visions that God gave to him.
St Gabriel appeared to Zechariah, father of St John the Baptist, and told him that his prayers were heard and that his wife, Elizabeth, would bear a child in her old age.
Months after this appearance, St Gabriel delivered his greatest message at the Annunciation when he appeared to Our Lady: Hail, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women!
He revealed to her that she would be the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
St Gabriel is the patron saint of messengers, telecommunication workers, postal workers, radio Broadcasters, clerics, diplomats, stamp Collectors, Portugal, Santander, Cebu, and ambassadors.
