How to sign in or create an account

You can sign in to the Pray app using your email and password. By default, we don’t require you to create a user account to use the app. When you sign in the first time we create an account for you on our servers.

The benefit of signing in is that we store and backup all of your prayer history and Patron status for you. This also works to sync data across multiple devices like an iPhone and iPad. If you upgrade an old or lost phone you won’t lose any data.

NOTE: An account is required to update your user profile and participate in the upcoming Group Prayers feature (late 2024).

Steps to Log In (existing account)

1. Open the User Profile tab (lower-right corner).
2. Tap the ‘Settings’ gear icon (upper-right corner).
3. Tap the ‘Login (for existing users)’ button.
4. Enter a valid email and password.
5. Tap the ‘Login with Email’ button.
   • If you don’t remember your password, tap the ‘Forgot password?’ button to send a password reset email to the email address you entered.
   • NOTE: Forgot password emails are sent immediately. If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your Junk folder. If you don’t see it, it could be that you don’t have an account with that email address.

Sign Up (create new account)

1. Open the User Profile tab (lower-right corner).
2. Tap the ‘Settings’ gear icon (upper-right corner).
3. Tap the ‘Sign Up with Email’ button.
4. Enter a valid email and password.
5. Tap the ‘Continue with Email’ button.
   • NOTE 1: If you already have an account with that email address, you will be prompted to log in instead.

Reset A Password / Forgot Password reset

1. On the Login screen, enter a valid email address.
2. Tap the ‘Forgot password?’ button.
   • If we have an account for that email address, we will send a password reset email immediately. Allow 1 minute for it to arrive and check to make sure it doesn’t end up in the Junk folder.
   • Follow the instructions in the email to reset your password.

Update Profile (Profile image, First and Last name, or Email)

1. After you’ve logged in, go to the User profile tab (lower-right corner).
2. Tap the ‘Settings’ gear icon (upper-right corner).
3. Tap the ‘Update My Profile’ button under the ACCOUNT section.
4. Update your First and Last name and tap ‘Name’ and Save Changes button.
5. Update your email address and tap ‘Email’ and Save Changes button.
6. Update your profile image and tap ‘Update profile image’, choose a photo showing just your face.
   • We use your name to personlize messages within the app and email notifications.
   • Your profile image, name, and country will be displayed to other users when you participate in Group Prayers (Coming in 4.0 later in 2024).
