St. Anna Schaffer Novena
St. Anna Schaffer (1882-1925) was a poor Bavarian girl who worked as a maid to earn the dowry she needed to enter a missionary order. At nineteen she slipped into a tub of boiling lye while doing the laundry and was scalded to the knees. The doctors gave her up as incurable, and she never walked again. For twenty-four years she lay in pain with wounds that would not close, supported herself with her needle, wrote letters of counsel to all who asked, and lived for Holy Communion. She was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012. Pray this novena for the disabled and the bedridden, for accident and burn victims, for those in hardship through disability, and for the favor you most need.
