Patron saint of domestic servants, homemakers, lost keys, those ridiculed for their piety, single laywomen, waiters and waitresses, and the city of Lucca
St Zita Novena
St Zita served the wealthy Fatinelli family of Lucca as a domestic servant for forty-eight years, enduring years of mockery for her piety until her holiness won her tormentors over. Famous for the miracle in which bread for the poor turned to flowers in her apron, she is the patron of all who serve, all who labor in hidden tasks, and all who are ridiculed for their faith.
